Thank you for your continued support!

Ballston Spa District Health & Wellness Expo: March 9, 2024

On March 9th the Ballston Spa Central School District will be holding the annual District Health & Wellness Expo.  This event is open to all students and families residing in the district.

As we have done in previous years, we would like to continue to raffle off bicycles at this event and it is our hope that families in the community would be willing to donate a bicycle, helmet, or a Target/Walmart gift card that can be used to purchase a helmet. Helmet distribution will be dependent on our ability to secure alternate funding/donations.  We acknowledge and appreciate community support and if you are interested in donating to this event, please email Adrienne Snow, asnow@bscsd.org

Scotties Locker: March 9, 2024
Part of the District Health and Wellness Expo (above) will be Scotties Locker, which is an opportunity for families to donate gently used sports equipment and pick out gently used sports equipment.  If you are interested in donating we will be accepting donations between Feb 1st and March 1st at the District Office, High School, and Milton Terrace Elementary School.  Due to health and safety regulations, we cannot accept helmets but we are looking for baseball/ softball gloves, bats, lacrosse pads, football pads, gently used cleats for all sports, soccer balls, lacrosse sticks, lacrosse goggles, swim goggles, shin guards, hockey pads, hockey sticks, ice skates, etc. Please contact Adrienne Snow, asnow@bscsd.org, with any questions.

Prevention Council Presentation on January 5

The Ballston Spa CSD, in partnership with The Prevention Council, presents “Right Under Your Nose”, an interactive program about current substance use trends, on January 5, 2024 from 5:30pm - 6:45pm in the High School Library.

“Right Under Your Nose” is an interactive program for parents, grandparents, guardians, and other concerned adults that will build understanding about the current substance-use culture. The program begins at 5:30pm with an opportunity to walk-through what a typical bedroom looks like, with numerous references to drug culture, containers, stashes, clothing, etc. Can you see what’s right under your nose?

Patty Kilgore, LMSW, from The Prevention Council, will explain to parents/adults just what is in the room and how to have discussions with students about drug culture. For more information, contact Patty Kilgore at 518-581-1230 ext. 3628 or patty@preventioncouncil.org.  See the event flyer HERE
