Odyssey of the Mind

Our incredible Malta Ave Odyssey of the Mind (OM) team did exceptionally well at the Odyssey of the Mind World Finals at Iowa State University. Our team finished in 12th place. Congratulations to this outstanding team! Click on the link below to read about our team.

Aristocats Kids

Congratulations to all of our students who were part of the drama club this year. Their three performances of Aristocats Kids were phenomenal! We are incredibly grateful to Mr. Shaver, Mrs. Ferlo, Mrs. Burlingame, and our PTA for providing our students with this experience! 

SPAC Performance 

On Thursday, May 16th, our 5th grade students performed their final choral piece from the SPAC Dance Residency Program (“Gotta Be”) on the SPAC Amphitheater Stage at the end of SPAC’s Annual Meeting event. This was a wonderful experience for our students and we were extremely grateful to be part of this event. Click on the link below to read more about this wonderful event-

SPAC Education Celebrates Success; Malta Ave Kids Perform at Venue

Spring Concert

On Thursday, May 16th, we held our spring concert. Congratulations to our Malta Avenue musicians who performed beautifully! A huge thank you to Mrs. Marshall and Mr. Norris for all their work preparing our students for the concert!

To Malta and Beyond

To Malta and Beyond is this Friday, June 7th! To Malta and Beyond is a showcase for our students’ wonderful art, where we celebrate different cultures through multicultural student art and projects, music, and dance.  Events will include:

  • Capital Region Youth Pipe Band (bagpipers and drummers!)The amazing Zorkie Nelson and his band Gballoi featuring West African drumming and dance

  • Tony's Polka Band featuring everyone's favorite party music.....polka!

  • World-renowned Chinese acrobat Li Liu weaving an acrobatic show (and a bike?!) together with traditional stories

  • Narthanalaya School of Dance (traditional Indian dance)

  • Ominike Akinyemi (Spanish flamenco dancing)

  • Hands- on art activities with the World Awareness Children's Museum

Food available for purchase on site from: Ty's Taco-ria, Pataconia, The Mac Factor, and Alex's Lemonade Stand (Student Council)

Schoolwide Meeting

On Tuesday, June 4th, we held our final schoolwide meeting for the school year. Mrs. Darmofal and Mr. Bryant’s students did a wonderful job planning and leading our meeting. During schoolwide meetings, we recognize our character education award winners for the month and introduce our character education word for the next month.

Malta Man Sidekicks
